Bidding farewell
It’s never ever easy to say goodbye to someone we’ve loved.
The Legal Genealogist today is gathering with cousins to do just that… and through the stories and the laughter… there are still the tears.
My Uncle Jerry was a really special guy… and it really hurts to know he’s gone.
Here, as we spread his ashes on his beloved land in McMinn County, Tennessee, are the images we will carry with us…
(He’s the one in the hat… the others are (left to right) my aunts Carol and Marianne and my uncles David and Mike.)
(He’s the big kid in the back… the others are (left to right) my uncle Mike, cousin Bobette and aunt Marianne.)
(With his sister, my aunt Trisha.)
(The banjo player, with his brother Mike.)
(With Mike and the omnipresent pickup truck.)
RIP, Jerry LaStone Cottrell (1934-2016).
What a beautiful tribute to your Uncle Jerry. Please accept my condolences on your loss.
A good life well lived, and well loved….a fine tribute.
A beautiful tribute. He was loved and sadly leaves a hole in your life having enriched it while he was present. Hugs for your loss.
Wonderful pictures. So sorry for your family’s loss of this very special man.
So very sorry for your loss, Judy. Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers.

Thank you.
Wish you’d been able to be there, Laura. Your Dad would have enjoyed the get-together. 🙂
So sorry for the loss of your uncle Jerry. It is never easy to lose a dear member of your family. The memories that bring pain now, may someday morph into something sweet. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
