By special demand…
Recently, on Facebook, friend and genealogical colleague Pat Richley-Erickson recalled hearing a keynote given at the RootsTech conference in 2014.
It was by The Legal Genealogist, and entitled Just Three Generations, and Pat and a few others wanted to hear it again.
It’s not been available online recently, but…
By special demand, and with specific permission… (cursor down…)

Thank you, thank you, thank you!
What J. Paul said… i am addling LOVE IT !
Judy, this was the first National Conference I attended, and I remember sitting on the right hand side in that huge hall listening to your talk. I loved it.
Judy, I am so glad you reposted this, just finished watching. The last few years I have been encouraging (nagging) readers of the 4 newsletters that I supply Gene Hints to: to please use the holidays to tell stories, show photos, share…etc. etc.
Since I learned first hand that family history can be lost: it was only thru newspaper research that I noticed my Great Grandmother’s name appearing in the Pueblo Chieftain (on genebank.com 1917-early 1922). In connection with the Mothers’ Congress & Parent Teacher Assn. I knew nothing about this. Very frustrating – it took me 3 yrs to clear my calendar for a trip to CO. Then I spent 170 hours in the Pueblo library going thru bad microfilm 1910-1917 & ended up with 3 Fat binders of info. Somewhere I came across the website for the Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame. After debating for awhile I finally got the info together (4 difficult criteria questions, plus other info, plus Full documentation) & sent them 29 pgs. Then chewed my fingernails for a few months before I was advised that Elizabeth Barratt Wells was accepted into the CWHF. The 4 other Great Grandchildren that I have found knew nothing about her accomplishments either.
Her name, Elizabeth, has come down to the 4th-5th generation but her accomplishments did not even to the third. And I talked to my Dad’s sisters who knew her and Lizzie lived with the family the last 4 months of her life!!!
I have also written up her story for a couple of Gene Society newsletters.
Born in England-Married in Canada-Made her mark in Colorado-Died in California!
I am currently trying to get more family stories written up.
Thanks Judy
