Score!
One of the wonderful things about having a blog and being beholden to no-one for it is the ability to speak one’s mind without fear of the consequences.
Now The Legal Genealogist is well aware that there are those who simply don’t see the world the way I do. That’s okay. And I understand that taking a stand on this kind of thing is going to alienate some people. And that’s okay, too.
I’m not going to change who I am or what I believe in because others don’t agree with me.
So last night was one of those defining moments of our lives. You know what I mean — it’s your guy facing off against their guy, and so very much is at stake.
You can stop reading now if you think you might be offended. And I’ll put the point down below some scroll-down warnings so you can avoid it if you’d like.
But I have to say it.
Just once at least.

The New York Yankees are AL East champions, beating Boston 14-2!!!
What, you thought I was going to say something else????
Judy, you have one wicked sense of humor. Too, too funny.
Rorey, you do realize that I consider that the absolutely highest compliment anyone could pay me, right?
It was meant in that vein. I forwarded it to my husband who is a political junkie. His reply: “I bit!”
(smile)
Oh, thank you! I needed a good belly laugh and you just provided it.
Always glad to oblige, Nan!
Good one, Judy! But I would not expect anything less from our CLEVER Genie!!!
LJB :o)
Thank you, Linda!!
I’m not even a sports fan but this is very funny. Out here in the Bay Area we are overburdened? with winners. If the Giants and A’s meet, everyone will be waiting for the earth to shake!?!?!? — again?
Coming from you, that’s high praise, indeed!! You do have a bunch of teams doing well out there — but yeah, with past experience as a guide, I’d definitely watch out for earthquakes!!! (And I’m delighted to have you reading this blog!!)
Been reading it for some time—love it!!!—but I’m a stealthy reader! ~; }
I sure don’t mind stealthy — just hope you’ll let me know whenever I make a mistake about our common ancestors!!
How did a person with a father from Chicago (White Sox and Cubs) and a mother from Texas (Astros and Rangers) become a Yankees fan? You live in NJ (and therefore are part of the bridge and tunnel crowd, not a New Yorker). Having grown up in NYC and NJ until I was 18 (and fled), rooting for the Yankees is the easy way out. Try being a Mets fan.
I’m not aware of any serious masochistic tendencies, so I think I’ll stay a Yankees fan. Thanks anyway.
Congrats on your Yankees, Judy! I was thinking of you when they won. Loved the post!
Thanks, Kimberly! And better luck next year for your guys…
Hey, I resemble that!
My condolences!
I got called that name a few times after I moved to Tennessee 17 years ago. But it was all in jest. Btw, “I resemble that” is an old Three Stooges line.
(smile) I remember those guys.
