Court records!

Does The Legal Genealogist even have to mention these are the best records out there? Finding an ancestor’s name in a court record is like winning the genealogical lottery!

webinarBut what if there isn’t anything — not one word — about my ancestor in those court records? What if (sigh) my ancestors are from one of Those Counties where the courthouse burned… not once, mind you, not twice, but three times? (One of which is at least anecdotally ascribed to some cousins who were due to go on trial soon thereafter…)

Is there any reason to look at court records in that case?

Oh yeah.

You betcha.

Come on along Wednesday for Using Court Records to tell the Story of Our Ancestors’ Lives, a free webinar sponsored by Legacy Family Tree. We’ll talk about court records and how they can be used to flesh out a family history even if your ancestors aren’t mentioned in them even once.

As always, you need to register in advance if you want to participate in the webinar live (it’s at 2 p.m. EDT, 1 p.m. CDT, noon MDT and 11 a.m. PDT).

But if you can’t clear your calendar for that day and time, remember that Legacy Family Tree webinars are available, free, for seven days after each webinar, and then available for purchase (individually or as a subscription package) so you can review the information more slowly, in more depth, at your own pace.

See you Wednesday!
